With fashion weeks well underway, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of my favourite looks so far.
This dress is channelling both sexiness and elegance at the same time. The top of this dress is beautifully constructed; the cut outs reveal just the right amount of skin and create a lovely pattern. The heaviness of the top half of the look is balanced out by the lightness created by the flow of the bottom half; silk was definitely a wise choice of material
What really struck me was the contract created by the winter pieces and the spring colour palette. Pink is my favourite colour, so it is no surprise this colour palette really appealed to me. The jumper is my favourite piece from this look with the really high neck and geometric design; I especially love the mix of texture and the studded neckline.
A very simple yet effective look. I love the sporty yet girly elements. Although the shape of the dress is baggy the belt cinches it in at the waist to create a beautiful silhouette. The gold detailing adds a very nice touch as does the jumper underneath.
One of my favourite pieces of clothing is coats and both of these coats are show stopping. Tartan has been on trend for a while now and this beautiful tartan print coupled with the black leather really creates a moment. The gold buttons and chain add a unique detail and contribute to the heaviness of the jacket, which is balanced by flowy dress it is styled with.
‘Cosmopolitan Chic Afrique’ is how Duro Olowu described her A/W 2019 collection and this look is channelling just that. This whole look is very daring with the mixture of three different prints and the shape he creates. The body of the dress is beautifully constructed with sophistication at the top and flirty at the bottom. In addition to this, the sleeves create a big statement in contrast to but complimentary to the body.
Even though so many people wanted to leave Fendi in 2018, it is definitely one of my favourite brands. The colour palette of this whole show was so pleasing, and it was very difficult to choose one look. I was struck by the eyes of the model in this picture as she looks so innocent and almost lifeless. This blazer is just stunning; the cut, the colour, the detailing. The white accents add a very nice touch and it has real pockets! (All my girls will relate to how difficult it is to find women’s clothes with actual pockets). This look is very masculine with the broad shoulders of the blazer, the double-breasted buttons and the large bow tie yet the fact that it was paired with a short skirt, tights and boots bring back the femininity.
Another fantastic jacket! Teddy jackets have really been in for a long time now and using a material that is akin to that of the teddy material was a wise choice. I love the leather pockets and the strip of leather along the zip line. There is a lot of edge in this look, but the dress adds a cute element to it.
I kinda cheated by having two looks here but I really couldn’t choose one. Both dresses have a very sexy neckline which shows just the right amount of cleavage but has a different effect in both cases. The first dress is very flirty which is accentuated by the neckline. The lovely pattern and the frill revealed at the hem is very teasing. The second dress, on the other hand is very big and classier which is contrasted by the neckline. The bold yellow used in this dress looks amazing on the model’s skin.
I love a good two-piece and this one did not disappoint. The mis of patterns here was very effective, especially because each pattern had the same colours. Usually I believe that three-quarter length trousers are a sin but here it added a nice tom-boyish vibe to the look. The top is really pretty and reveals just the right amount of skin, whilst the bow around her neck is very teasing.
Do I even need to say anything for this look? The shape of it creates a beautiful silhouette and the mixture of patterns was very well done. The bright colours of this dress almost make you believe that it belongs in a different season. You almost forget that this is an Autumn/ Winter look but the bright puffer jacket on her arm reminds you of this.
Let me know what you think of these pieces and what your favourite looks are so far
